Not much work has been done on this wagon lately, finally painted my frame, tow-hooks, and skid plate back black.

I've been getting the itch lately to add another 400 to my stable, but all the cheap ones go quick around here.
Went and looked at 3 K1500s in the past month, and one 800 2500HD.
Gonna go take another look at this '96 in the next couple of days, $3700, 350/4L60E, only 134,000 miles.

I liked this one a lot, but $12K is a little out of my budget for a broke high-school kid, it's a 1994 with 94,000 miles on it.

I know this has probably been asked a million times, but I've been through the XJ Shaft conversion thread 4 times and haven't seen what I'm looking for,

Is it possible to do the XJ Shaft swap on a 97? Or is the steering set up the same way that 98s are? If someone could find a link or something or provide a clear answer to this I'd appreciate it greatly.
