I would like to get 8.8 for less than 8.1l. Usually rods and crank are forged on medium duty motors, but rods still used weaker hardware.Turbo an 8.8. When gm sold them to psi they stuck them in trucks and school busses. I believe they had forged cranks and pistons. I can find good core takeout that got replaced with a new crate motor cheeper than I can buy the parts to stroke an 8.1
