correct the thermal flap is the thing you see when you look into the snorkel of the filter. remove it and plug the hole on the bottom.

chances are your fuel is lean from the factory these tbi trucks came with between 11-13 psi. you want it at around 12.5-13 for a stock motor. best bet would be to rent a fuel psi tester and check the psi if it is less then 12.5 look into upping the psi eather with a washer/quarter or a diy adjustable regulator.

injector and tbi spacer both make a big differance on these trucks along with a salad bowl.
