Do we have any members or sellers who may have a stash of these? guess mine has crapped out. The gears turn freely , speedo works just fine , rest of dash as well.

My local junkyards dont have any 92-94s rite now. also is there a way to test them to confirm ?

Wow.. first I've heard of a 92-94 odometer going out.

I've got a 92-94 non-tach cluster that has just been sitting on my shelf forever because I don't feel like they have much value. IIRC it's the original from my '94 C2500LD that had around 130K when I bought it. Needles faded, etc. But - I scored a gorgeous tach cluster later that only had 34K. I believe in odometer honesty so when I swapped that cluster I also swapped the odometers. All that said, I've got an otherwise-worthless cluster here with a 34K odometer if you'd like it for the motor. I could pull the odometer/tripmeter and throw them in a small USPS box.

(edit - I got that 34K cluster sometime around 2007; how's that for some packrat BS, that I still have the faded old cluster I swapped it out for...)

Im gonna take it all back apart and see if the drive shaft may possibly be hung up or something. Ive changed the trip meter before as the old style drive shaft with the rubber coupling has come apart. But ive never had problems with the main odometer..

Theres a seller on ebay who has the motors for the 95-98s; and according to a convo i had with seller, it also fits the 88-94. There’s just a white gear that needs to be taken out or installed.
Do you know anything about that?

You might also try disconnecting the tripmeter (pop it out) to see if it's hanging up the odometer. The tripmeters are more prone to being an issue since they break due to resetting while in motion. We've all done it..

Really don't know about the 95-up parts being swappable. If it's cheap enough then I guess it's worth a shot. Otherwise I've got this one here available, and you can't beat the price. ;)

Ok. Update. so i forgot about 3 momths ago when i got this cluster, the odometer was off at least 60k miles. Well i took it apart and made it right. I guess i didnt line up tabs properly… or something. The retainer piece was all cracked, and none of the spacer tabs were in line.

BUT WAIT. I COULD MANUALLY turn the motor gear, and while the “trip” would move properly, my odometer moved WONKY.

See attached pics, i adjusted again, but one of the plastic gear spinners between the numbers that goes on metal spacer was missing. IDK now what next. Even if i got another odometer , id want it to be right. guess im gona end up eventually having to do the digital dash…

So trip moved 2 miles, odometer 12 miles. This was manually turning the motor gear.

odometer / trip does not move at all when driving.

Reviving an old thread here - I’m in the same boat. Dad’s 1992 Sierra c1500s odometer quit working completely. Took it apart and messed with it, put it back together and it’s working but only puts about .4 miles on the odometer for every mile driven. Disconnected and removed the trip odometer and got the same results. Thinking it’s the motor itself, seems to hang up sometimes anyway.

This is dad’s baby - has about 100k on it and other than the paint it’s in excellent shape. Told him I’d do what I can so it’s torn down in my garage.

Anyone have an odometer motor or entire unit available I could pick up? Is that entire non tach unit still available? Any advice on whether I’m going down the right road here would be great too :).
