proform makes decent stuff in some cases, like valve covers timing covers etc. the procomp heads you can lucky with the castings just dont use their springs. a more cost effective head is promax though.

Pro form is fine for dress up stuff. I personally like scat stuff or eagle.

Some of the stuff in the kit is scat and king bearings. But anyway I found a scat assembly for just a couple hundred more, so I'll just pony up the rest, I'd feel more at ease every time I floor it thanks for the input guys

What's the benefit of the smoothing? Will a machine shop be able to do it? Oils mods as in like an oil cooler or what do you mean?

oiling mods, basically polishing the entire bare casting of the block and chamfereing all the oiling holes. helps the oil move more smoothly, and so forth.
