37 tires and gears

I'm currently running 5.13's and 38.5 tires. I'm looking to possibly downgrade to 37's primarily because of the cost for military tires. Anybody ever run 5.13's and 37's? If so how was it? It's not my daily but I do enjoy taking it on long drives and I'd prefer not to absolutely destroy my already bad mileage. But if it isn't all that bad and I keep my foot out of it, curious if it's work out well. Anyone have an idea of what the rpms would be like at around 65?

I drove a truck that had 37's & 4.88's, it drove like a stock truck with 31's & 3.73's.

Yea 5.13's are good for my 38.5's. Puts it pretty much to stock again but it's still a 305 so always gonna be sluggish. I feel like 5.13's would help push a little easier with 37's but Im just curious if anyone ran this combo before.

I loved my 94 the most with 4.56's and 33's. It's a 350tbi and an auto. I have 315/75r16's now which only measure to about 34", and it doesn't do bad but not as good as it did with the 33's. And I did run 37's with those gears, and it struggled.

Ok that's more what I'm looking for. 4.56's with 33's should be about equivalent to running the 37's with 5.13's

I would think it would be about the same. I honestly don't remember the rpm's or anything, but I did DD it like that for about a year. And that was with interstate driving, so I know it wasn't unbarable!

It'd be like running 4.10s on 31s better towing and at 60 you'll probably be a tad over 2k

Yea that sounds about right. With my setup now I'm dead on 2k at 65
