So lot's of reading has lead me to understand that the 3/4 ton front calipers are the same as the Police/Ltd Tahoes. So I was thinking of upgrading to 3/4 ton calipers, Hawk LTS pads for 2WD 1500, new rotors for 2WD 1500's and a GMT800 Master. Am I correct on the 3/4 calipers with stock 2WD 1500 pads and rotors? Or do I need 3/4 ton pads too?

Thanks in advance!

I do believe you will use the pads that are for the specified calipers. When I bought my calipers they came with pads. So I guess I wont know till it's time to change them. Lol

I put the police Tahoe calipers and pads (same as late Suburbans and 3500) on my 90 C1500. Slightly longer pedal travel due to my stock MC, but the larger bore MC should make up that difference. The calipers and pads work fantastic, btw.

No, you want the 1500 pads even on the 2500 caliper. The 2500 pads are too tall for the 1500 rotor and will grind into the hat. You will need to stretch the clip on the pad that goes into the caliper piston.

Ideally you would run the bigger rotors and pads correct?

Edit OIC 5 lug vs 6/8 lug becomes an issue.

1500 pads, 1500 rotors, and 2500 calipers. I mistyped on my one post. I fixed that but wanted to footstomp the correct info.

The parts catalogs I've seen list the same pad part numbers for the police Tahoe's as the 8600 GVW 2500 trucks, which is a 370 series pad, versus the 369 series pad on the 7200 GVW 2500's and the 1500 trucks. Why is that if they don't fit?
