I built a 6" rod 383. 11:1 compression. Cam is 218/228 @ 0.050, .578/.578" lift, 110 lsa, 106 icl. Running 1.7:1 roller and Rhoads VMax lifters. Ported Assault racing heads that ended up at 210cc ports flowing 290+ cfm. Running a Marine dual plane MPI intake with an edelbrock intake plenum and 87mm GM throttle body. Thorley tri-Y headers. Idles like stock, makes great low-end torque and pull cleanly past 6,000 rpm.

Depends on how much you want to spend and what HP/torque you want. Here's a kit, just throw a FiTech or Holley EFI on top of it and go.

That is the info I was looking for thank you very much, I am going to go with 9.1 compression and for now stock intake, Because I live in New York and have to have a erg valve for inspection

What was all involved for the marine intake, and is it really that much better over a stock truck intake?
