Well I'm finally getting sick of the G80 in my truck. As the title indicates, I'm going to be upgrading my 10 bolt. I'd like to go with an Eaton Detroit Locker and 4.10 gears. Knowing very little about this type of thing, I just want to make sure my parts list is in order before I pull the trigger.

Eaton Detroit Locker - 187C148A

Richmond Gear 4.10 Ring and Pinion Gears - 6901651

Richmond Gear Mega Ring and Pinion Installation Kit - 831021M

Also Eaton's application guide leads me to believe that I need some special bearings and races to make the locker work with my rear end. I think I've got them narrowed down to these:

Timken Races - LM102911
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tmk-lm102911

Timken Bearings - LM102949

Does anyone see any issues with what I have picked out here? Anything I'm missing? Thanks in advance for your input.

The truck. Suburban has factory 3.73s with it's g80 so it doesn't bother me as much, although I'm sure I'll put a locker in it eventually.

EDIT- Truck has 3.42s, probably should have mentioned that.

if i may voice my opinion, a built 10 bolt yes is stronger than a stock one but your still kinda wasting your money, id go 14 bolt i know its what everyone else is doing but theres a reason for it (although i do hate 10 bolts as well)

Thanks Crash! This is exactly why I posted this before ordering anything, you just saved me $60 in bearings.

I respect that opinion and honestly I agree, but my truck is very close to original and I don't want to change the drivetrain around to the point where someone looking underneath it will see something that looks non-factory when compared with the RPO codes. I know, it's silly, but the truck was my dad's and was custom-ordered from GM. I love it the way it is and don't want to change it around too much.

He also has a 4.3 in a 2wd. 5 lug 14 bolts are hard to come by, and a 6 lug swap sounds like a little more than he wants to do. If set up properly, that 10 bolt should serve him well. Sounds like a winner to me.
