It’s pretty typical to have broken bolts on these LS engines.
In the 20 years i been messing with these engines i think ive only gotten lucky 2 times with no broken bolts in the heads.
I learned quick to run a tap through all the threaded holes before putting the engine in vehicle. Saves quite the headache.

They always have those fronts and rear bolts broken off. I guess it's from thermal expansion over the years
The difference in expansion and contraction between the alum heads and exhaust manifolds must be the cause. Either way the problem seems to be solved with ARP studs and Remflex gaskets at least NA.

For boosted engines which exhaust gaskets are you using and which turbo kits or headers?

I always use the MLS gaskets. Felpro or Cometics.
And most turbo setups are Huron Speed or a home made system using factory manifolds.

I was planning on just making a home mad one because it’ll be cheaper.

if you want a fun street truck going with an ls and a 4l80e with a turbo is the way to go. I'm finishing up my turbo truck and so far it's a blast to drive. I'm running an LM7 with a vs racing 78/75 turbo.

That looks amazing that’s what I’m striving to do. Do you needa run slicks?
