Would it work in the engine? Sure. But there are far better cams than that one.

Um, no. The lift is too much for the heads. The rpm range is 2500-6400 while wanting a 2800+ stall. Tbi heads won't hardly allow more than about 4500 rpm before becoming a choke point. The tbi system can't handle a cam that produces that low of a vacuum signal.

@Tparkridge, what are your intentions for the truck?

No matter what, that cam is too big for the TBI system and too big for your heads. Pretty much any cam is going to need retuning the TBI, and likely bigger bores and injectors. Performance-wise, the TBI heads are also some of the worst Chevy ever produced. If you want to run a big, lumpy cam, you'll need to budget a head swap. Worse, that big of a cam isn't going to play well in a heavy truck and will likely ruin your towing ability.

Decide the purpose for your truck. Then call Comp Cams and ask what they have that will work with your limitations. I called Lunati and told them I had Vortec heads and could fit up to .530" lift and they recommended a great truck-oriented cam that I never would have found without their help.

I'm guessing he just wants the sound. I'd look at Isky cams, they have cams that lope but are mild.

Cams that "lope" are causing misfire.

Misfire will murder the catalyst, and screw-up the computer programming.

Better to ground a plug wire when driving to the Dairy Queen to "impress" people you don't know, and who don't care.

Selecting a cam deliberately because it idles bad is insane.

Yeah,uh No! That's a mud truck cam. That cam in a light truck with 12:1 CR,high flowing heads,4.56 gears and paddle tires will literally plane across a pond. Pretty much worthless on the street. They claim 6500 but that cam will make power to 8000 with the right parts. There was a friend of mine that was into the mud truck scene that ran that cam in a K5 Blazer with a 327 that was downright impressive. Sounded like a swarm of pi$$ed off bees when he mashed the go pedal.
