I just used their Cast Blast yesterday on some stuff. It is the first time I’ve used Seymour paint, everything turned out great.
I have a couple of cans of VHT cast aluminum that I have used before with good results.
Is your passenger side axle housing iron or aluminum?
I’m trying to figure out if I can upgrade to the new style seal.
As expected, your front diff looks great. Keep up the great work.
I've been following along on your build. What a great project! It's going to look awesome. And thanks for the heads up to both of you on the Seymour Alumi Blast. I was going to get under my truck and wire wheel the cast aluminum parts clean. Now, a little cleaning and spraying is a much better option. I've already ordered a couple of cans from Amazon.

So if any of you are looking for some stock parts that I won’t be reusing just let me know and pay for the ride and it’s yours. Let’s start with this, I have 3.73 gears for, 8.5”, 8.25”, 9.25”, 9.5” and 11.5”. All used and factory gear sets.

Today my son and I took a road trip over the hill to Sacramento. We had a window between two of the biggest storms we’ve had this winter. A couple of feet the last few days on Donner Summit, and they’re saying 3-4 feet over the next couple of days.

So we went down to my friends machine shop to pick up the parts for the bottom end of his engine. All the machine work is done and everything is balanced. I’ll post some pictures tomorrow when we unload it.
While we were there we put the front differential housing in the jet washer and finished getting that all cleaned up. Tomorrow we are going to prep it and paint everything with Aluma Blast. Then we’ll start assembling it with all the new parts.
My son also got to do a little machining while we were there. We bored our Edelbrock tbi intake and the cfm-tech spacer out to 2”. I’ll go in and clean up the edges by hand on both parts. Then we put the intake in the jet washer and got it cleaned up. We also drilled out the four center holes at the same angle as the rest of them. Then we’ll use some wedge shaped washers when we bolt it on. That’s it for today, I’m tired, hungry and thirsty.

That's a decent amount of snow, but it's not the 6-8' walls that I've seen accumulate over that segment of I-80.
Wen driving to Reno from Sacramento, I generally prefer taking US 50 over I-80.
You mean like this? These are from March of last year On Donner.

That's a neat way to do it....if I'm seeing it correctly.
Mada a jig out of the spacer so it (the bit) doesn't wonder in the intake...cool!
Did you "jig up" to drill the spacer?
Just used a normal drill press or do you have a milling machine?

This build is great, awesome the boy is getting his hands dirty and learning some great skills.
