In Wisconsin, we don’t have any checks that are meaningful. 2 years you get a emissions test in East Wisconsin only (I think), only for vehicles made after 1996. So meaningless that I think they just do a OBD2 scanner and see if any emissions BS is throwing codes, so you could literally get away with open manifolds (as I did). I don't think in the history of the test, a single person has failed (Unless the person was registered as a vehicle and they weren't; OBD2 compliant, their check engine light bulb was out, or they weren't born before 1995)

I just cut it all off. There is only about 1 inch left from the 02 sensor. It seems to run better sounds great to me. And no I don't care about emissions or the environment.

Calm down. I didn't know it was that big of a thing. My exhaust is factory it was a completely hypothetical scenario. Holy Cow man.
So, which is it, You just cut it off, or it's completely hypothetical?

Well this went stupid rather quickly. Thanks for all your help.
I was hoping this forum was different but I guess they are all the same. Thanks for the help.

I'm a member in multiple forums about these trucks (or GM ones) and tuning. This one has, by far the most participation, so we have a little fun from time to time. Maybe some folks need to step back for a while? :33:

It's almost always the same thing, super-tough FNG shows up full of pìss and vinegar, seeks input, gets made fun of, complains that all forums are bullshìt, and fails to see the common denominator in the equation...

As my Nana used to say "ask a stupid question..."

Perhaps a moderator will move this thread to the Exhaust sub-forum.

Removing a functional catalyst, or removing but not replacing a non-functional catalyst is against Federal law. It is illegal in 50 states, and probably US Territories and Possessions. If the Feds want you, you've given them a perfect opportunity.

You're required to have the same number of catalysts, in the same location as the vehicle was engineered with, unless you've got an "approved" modification complete with EPA or CARB exemption sticker.
Judging from what mr Schurkey said I just gave the feds a perfect opportunity to "get me" just by bringing it up on this forum. Mr Schurkey maybe you should try and lighten up a little it's just a forum and we like to have a little fun every once and a while. Life is too short not to laugh.
