Did you flush the trans cooler and lines when you rebuilt it? It might be worth it to pull the pan and see if the filter got plugged.
It doesnt take much to plug them up and you can also look at whats in the bottom of the pan.
A little glitter after a rebuild is normal.
Big sparkley vegas hooker glitter is bad
And, sometimes just a fluid change will break enough crud loose

Yeah I put in brand new fluid when I installed it. I’ll check it out on the weekend and let you guys know what it looks like. Hopefully we don’t have a Vegas situation going on lol

Yikes
Hopefully I resolve this sooner rather than later then lol
& sadly no I don’t. I’m pretty used to the heat so I just park it under the car port and plug in a fan. Getting up early on the weekend also helps.

Now I really feel your pain! I did 6 years of carport wrenching in Phoenix.
Nothing like checking for snakes and scorpions be fore you crawl under
Found a few too!
Let everybody know what you figure out
Might help save some other poor schmuck

Dropped the pan and it I don’t see any really noticeable shiny things
The top of the filter was sorta shiny but that’s really about it. About to drop the valve body

How's the magnet in the bottom of the pan look? Another thing I read somewhere is to jack up the rear end and put it on jack stands. Then put it in reverse and run it at idle for 20 minutes. I guess that's supposed to build enough pressure and flow to back flush the valves. Good luck with it.

There was some grime but no big chunks of anything
This transmission had some corrosion in the valve body and I think that’s why the 3-4 valve was stuck. I can push it in now with my finger after taking it out and putting WD-40 on it

Please don't use WD40, use anything but WD40. You can piss on it and do a better job. There's a special grease for transmissions or you can use Vaseline to lube valves and stick balls in place during assembly. As mentioned above, take a look at your check balls and their holes, you may have to replace the separator plate if they're too worn out and the balls are sticking.

I went ahead and checked all the valves to make sure they were free and would spring back into place. I’m about to reinstall it now

So after reinstalling it and buttoning everything back up, I put some fluid in it and took it for a drive, the shifts were stacked so I put some more fluid in it until it hit the OKAY mark
I went to drive it again and it was then shifting very hard and late @~3000 rpm
Then it wouldn’t shift at all
So that’s where I currently am

I’m considering just going manual
I’ve been struggling with this transmission and I wanted it to eventually be a manual anyways so I figured what better opportunity than now
