Damn right. Just the sort of backing I need. I may end up falling into that category of leaving it alone but I'm going to do everything in my power to get it done. Plus we get to practice painting a freaking jeep first. I realize mine is not going to be near perfect either but honestly very rarely do you find someone who does have a perfect paint job.

jdyates, where in the hell did you go for a $800 paint job? Maaco?

Lol it wasnt me that took it, my uncle did. Not sure where he got them done but the paint on both our trucks looks damn near flawless, even upon close inspection.

I was looking at buying a new one in '98. Apparently the ZR2 has additional skid plates, sat a little higher, bigger tires, & a different front end. Now I look back and think, it was STILL an S-10.

Haha OH I see so those little complete BS modifications warranted $4000 in upgrades in GM's eyes. Gotcha. Good move passing on the wanna be truck. I hate how marketing today is so geared towards tricking people into wanting things they really don't need rather than actually making the truck from a useable standpoint. Like Ford's "man step" and Dodge's toolbox in the bed bs...How about making 4x4's SFA and sit a bit higher from the factory. At least make it an addition to the 4x4 and z71 style that we have now make it an option for people.

Yeah I saw your pic after the new paint! Looks great. One thing I have noticed when it comes to freshly painted vehicles is this over inspection if you will. It seems like no matter what, it's never "perfect" by the owner or other people's standards and let me reiterate that I'm not going for a show car paint job but we will be using some damn good stuff and spending 4-5 days prepping each truck so it will come out as good as possible for us to do.

Well it will be a while for sure, but tmrw we start painting our practice fender so I will be posting those results in here. Then of course the jeep, his truck, and then MINE!!! I swear I hope this works out (don't see why it won't) with the dedication that we have but I cannot wait to see my truck de molded and everything off with fresh paint   then I will have to get some 20's on 35's or 37's to complete the outside!

$3,000? Mine costed $800 without bedliner and my uncle got his GMT800 painted for $1000 WITH bedliner.

WOW those are cheap paint jobs. My dad just painted his s10 and it costs him over 300 just for paint.

Yep! For ALL of my materials, I figured around $750.00, to do the body work & paint. My painter buddy & me swap time, buy our own materials.

Sounds about right... I wish there was someone around here we could swap services like that with..
