Someone recently posted, and I think it was @df2x4, since buying Acdelco or Raysbestos(Acdelco supplier) are notoriously crap, best thing is to buy local, then any return or exchange is easy. Words of Wisdom!!! I really have no faith in buying drums online.

That was me. As an added bonus, if you have a mechanic near you who does rotor/drum turning you can have them checked and corrected if necessary before installation. I have this done every time, I don't trust anything straight out of the box anymore when it comes to drums and rotors.

My luck is just great! I opened the boxes for my brake rotors and come to find out, the driver side is different than what was ordered and what the box says it is. These came directly from dynamic friction on amazon, tried contacting them and they are closed on the weekends. Brake job delayed again.. wrong rotor part number on rotor says 630-48008L, should be 633. I tried googling that part number and nothing came up, even on the R1 website.

Having said what I said, I actually would recommend these. These were sent directly from EBC USA. I won them in a contest from EBC, I believe they are manufactured in England. Out of the box and zero issues, actually love these rotors.

My luck ... the driver side is different than what was ordered and what the box says it is.

I also checked p/n 630-48008L and I didn't turn up any part with that number.

Was the rotor simply mis-stamped "630" instead of "633"?

Looking at the pictures, the MIN THK numbers jibe.

Do they weigh the same? Are they dimensionally identical? The vent gap and discs' thickness look similar, at least from what I gleaned looking at the pictures.

So me being me, I had to take some measurements.

Wrong rotor:
Inward meat - 8mm
Outer(tire side) -7.5mm
Total from side to side - 32.5

Correct rotor:
Inward meat - 9mm
Outer - 9mm
Total - 32.5

The face on the back side of the wrong part has a 6mm offset you can see. Not really sure for what or if that would affect performance or braking power.

Do i proceed and install as is, or return and get correct part?

Upon more investigation, these are the R1 concept eline black drilled rotors. Maybe they bought dynamic friction (whom i bought them from on amazon). These were the last set on amazon, maybe i got an earlier version that was in their warehouse whatever they were getting rid of everything. I got the set for $65. On the R1 concept website, each is going for around $115.

You can certainly use them.

Whether they're ideal is a different question.

If the rotors have different mass, as suggested by the different thicknesses you noted, then the lighter rotor will have greater heat rise during braking, all other things being equal.

The sum thickness on one is 15.5mm while the other's 18mm. Percentage-wise, 18/15.5 = ~ 1.16, i.e., ~16% difference.

(copied from your post)

Wrong rotor:
Inward meat - 8mm
Outer(tire side) -7.5mm

Correct rotor:
Inward meat - 9mm
Outer - 9mm

For some comparison, see here:

PS: Harbor Fright sells those cheapie digital calipers for ~$22. Make the investment.

Did you not like my plastic caliper? Lol I have the digital one but dead battery. I ran to HF to purchase a new digital but they were out. Plastic was $2. Served my purpose.

I’ll weigh the rotors tomorrow. I don’t think i will install the less meaty rotor on the driver side as my current driver side rotor warped pretty bad last month when I made my way to Reno from Sacramento and back.
