Oh man, your son must be excited seeing it all coming together having had a hand in it all. He's going to be so proud to be driving around when it's finished.
Yeah, in the last week he’s started taking more pictures than me. He’s decided that he wants to paint it later, maybe next winter, and get it on the road pretty soon.

Yes, it's easy to get caught up in the excitement and start to take short cuts. At least he has you to help him see the big picture and stay grounded and to see the pros and cons of any decision he makes.

So on the fuel and brake lines I’m looking at two options, pre-bent like inlinetube or copper nickel “easy bend” tubing and make my own. I’m a pipe fitter by trade and have all the tools needed to make my own, but the pre-bent would be stainless compared to the the copper nickel , which I have never worked with. Also the copper nickel would be about half the cost.

Thoughts?

I've always opted for the stainless, but I have heard repeatedly from the shop guys that they can bend/install the CuNi lines faster than installing the pre-bent stainless. FWIW

What are you thinking for fuel lines?

If you're going to bend and flare steel line, you'll have to buy a high-end bender. I'd guess the copper nickel would be easier and could be done with cheaper tools. I had to repair a flare on my Jaguar's factory mild steel lines, and it destroyed my mid-quality flaring tool.
