Tiny.. tiny.. tiny little bit of progress. Removed the rig job tow hitch receiver brackets. The heads of the bolts had been torched to get one part of the flange off so they'd fit inside the bracket pocket, so they didn't really wanna turn, and the nuts on the backside were tough to access and really rust-frozen. Like everything else the previous-previous owner did to this truck, it was a real PITA to get this junk off the truck. The bumper is toast, dunno if I'll replace it or not, but considering how I frequently park the SS behind this one with about 6" of clearance, those brackets poking out made me nervous. Also if the doofus neighbor across the street ever so much as bumped my rear bumper on the SS, it would end up with both bumpers damaged when it taps the '93. Then I'd end up on the news.

(And shhhh, don't tell anyone, but I did a quickie re-attach of the floppy, broken rub strip ends with a little self-tapper screw at each end.)

Think my buddy across town (well, about an hour+ away) is gonna cut a 20x20 piece from the bed floor of his parts truck for me, so I'll have a panel to cover up the gooseneck hole.

Wonder what it's gonna take to get the trailer ball out of the bumper. It's loose, but the nut rusted tight to it. I think by the time I get through removing it I'll just wish I'd swapped the whole damn bumper out in the first place.

Baby steps. :anitoof:

Yeah, toss that bumper and the ball problem goes away too.
Roll pan? I personally don't like 'em but many people do.
