I am wondering if a PO left it loose because if it was tight you would have to hit it with considerable force fore it to do what it did I have never herd of some thing like this happening before hopefully the automotive/mechanical gods are smiling down on you and your truck
these make me feel good hopefully they do the same for you any one else who see this I wish you good luck and hopefully the shop dose not take you for every thing you got if you still have questions do nt hesitate to ask

Pretty sure it was on its way out to begin with. You can wobble around the cap mount while the distributor is stationary. It was a matter of time. Glad it was at home not on a major highway that could cause serious damage. She only has 195,500 miles. Just broken in.

I agree that is not a lot of miles for the year of the truck however I feel the need to point out that you do not know how all of them miles were put on here is a good example of what I mean my former friends 99 K-1500 classic was born a 305 truck he got it with 150K on the clock I think he is the 3rd or 4th owner of the truck any way one of the PO's decided it was a good idea to put a 6'' lift 35'' on wide wheels on the truck and skip regearing the diffs and skip the front end service and use the truck pull people out of the lake and desert needles to say when he got the truck it walked all over the road the a/c did not work it had hardly any exhaust just a y pipe the check engine/service engine light was on the brakes were tost and the 305 was very tired and it showed just how tired it was when we put LD 6 lug K-2500 diffs on it with more appropriate gears for the tire size
