Help please . Can you get 35/12.5r15 tires on a 97 Silverado 1500 4x4 without them sticking out past fender flares .

15x8 gm rallies from the 80s but ur best bet might be go with 11.5. Im runnin 32x11.5x15s on my 98. Is there a max limit? Could always get bigger flares or get a differenr offset on ur wheels.

I just don't know **** about this really . Was dad's truck he passed away in Va. Now have truck in PA was pulled and officer said they stick out way to far . The 35 12.5 r15s are like new . Would like to keep them on there . Is there a way to do it and be legal ? I'll post a picture . Thanks for any help

Those wheels have a huge offset, that's the biggest reason they're sticking out. Also, the front tires may be new but they are about wore out from the front end being out of alignment and probably the ball joints wore out. And the wheel offset doesn't help.

But as an emergency measure, as 454rat points out, I have seen garden edging used for fender flares.......

Try to find out what the code says as “too far” is pretty subjective. Did they give you a ticket that cites the code?

I’d agree that they were looking for another offense.

Those front tires don’t look long for this world, by the way.
