I did a search but did not find any like my problem.
93 gmc c1500, fully rebuilt front end in March.
I make a 200 mile round trip every Saturday morning and on my way back I noticed the dust cover on my left front wheel bearing was missing.
I made it to a parts store withing about 20 miles and got a new one and some grease. I wiped out some of the black grease around the bearing pushed in some new grease and the new dust cover.
The hub was Very hot, I coul only touch it for a few seconds.
Is this normal?
60 mile later I got home and the new cover is pushed out some and a few table spoons of grease is pushed out.

I followed all the torque specs when I did the work and duralast bearings.
What would cause bearings to over heat?

I also have an odd vibration I feel through my steering wheel.

Sorry for the long post

The dust cover being pushed out is telling you something. Did you remove the bearings and races when doing the front end work? New bearings and races?
Remove the rotor and check the bearings and see how the bearings are seated.

New rotor and bearings, the rotor came with bearing races already installed and I didn't remove them.
I wonder if that is where I screwed up.
I got new bearings today and will replace the races this time.

Always do the race that comes with the bearings

I am surprised at how little grease they used.
Thanks for posting these videos.
I'm in my lat 50s and I've replaced front bearings on dozens of cars/truck over my lifetime.
This is a good example of the need to refresh your knowledge of proper procedures every so often.

Thanks again guys

I'm about to fix me bearings now
