how are you running 2200? I only run 2000 at 70.... 265/70/17 which is pretty much identical to 265/75/16

But I pull down a consistent 15 to 15.5 Hwy and have seen 17 when I was pretty much stock. Around town is 12.5 to 13

I posted that from my phone, meant to say 2100 RPM  You get pretty decent miliage for a TBI!

Gotcha! I was going to say, whoa I am so confused  I am fairly happy with it! for all my mods done I think I do well. I think my distributor is worn out, probably my next mod is a new billet one.

Cant really think of anything else that could help out the MPG any more besides goin back to stock tires & dropping the truck back down.

NEVER!!! :XD:

Wow, I didn't expect to get all of this feedback... cool. Well, since I'm the OP, I might as well slap out what I'm on:

285/75/16 with 3:73's. K&N Filter (actually helped a little, to my shock and utter amazement) 1998 V8 350.

and kudos to the guy who gets 16.5 on 315's!!!! When I stick on 315's, I'll only dream of that kind of mileage. I'm getting worse than that right now! Maybe after I get a tune up it'll help. Does anyone have some simple mileage saving tips?*

*EXCEPT: being easy on the gas pedal. Who really wants to be told that?

Oh yeah- one more thing:

My folks have a 2wd '94 burb on 235's with the 350 TBI- they pulled 18.9 out of a 40 gallon tank on the interstate with 7 PEOPLE IN IT! That is a ton of weight- my buddy has a Ford Taurus and he only gets 21 out of that toting HIMSELF around!

100% stock - 15-18 mpg average
after heads, MPFI, cam - 15-17 average
after T56 trans swap using stock 3.73's on stock 29" tires - 11-14 average
regeared to 4.88's with same 29" tires - 15-16 average
supercharged running 6-7psi boost and 42# injectors - 15-16 average

all averages are a mix of city and highway in daily driving situations, pretty close to a 50/50 mix.

4.88s huh? deemn. I forgot to count the teeth, but I run at 120km/h@2krpm highway and 120km/h@5krpm city LMAO and before the sensors were fixed I could watch the needle go down a line with every WOT! Now that the engine's up to par, it's fairly decent for an L31 and a heavy foot. Just couldn't tell ya since my odo kicked the bucket, maybe 13-14 mpg.

yup, with 4.88's 29" tires, and in 6th gear I'm running just barely 2000 rpm at 70 on the freeway
