yup, with 4.88's 29" tires, and in 6th gear I'm running just barely 2000 rpm at 70 on the freeway

I though I was over geared with 4.10s and 265/70R17s on my 04. I get 14-18 depending on highway or town in my 04, my 88 typically gets 10-12 with my 31s on 285s I got about 9 LOL when I had a fresh tune up, decent alignment and running 87 octane(100% gasoline) I got about 16.5.

yeah, the 4.88's with 29" tires play REALLY well with the T56 gearing, I'd be crazy to run that combo with a 4L60e though...I ran 3.73's with the T56 before, and 6th gear was pretty much unusable. I've been really happy with the combo.

x2. I run 4.56's with 28" tire. 6th was basically useless with the 3.73s. Now I cruise 75 mph at 2100 rpm.

Amazes me that the LT1 cars had really tall rear gears with a T56.

well, with my drive to indiana..about 180 miles, i was a lil under half a tank with my 16 gallon fuel cell. 180 miles / 9 gallons right at 20mpg. RPM were around 2400 on the high way 2000 on the country roads.

They are not a brick in the wind like the trucks though. And they had shorter tires.

I have 28" tires with 4.10s and T56 in my Camaro. Thinking about going to a 4.56. Right now 2000rpm in 6th is 82mph. And with the cam a little extra gear wouldn't hurt.

I've gotten just over 22mpg on the highway (70-75mph) and about 17mpg in mixed driving. LOL, I do have a 4.3L and a 5 speed, but 4WD and an 8' bed. It isn't going to win any races but at least it gets decent fuel ecomony for what it is...

96 ECSB 5.7 w/BB tune, MPFI upgrade, shaved butterfly, headers, no cats to single 3", egr & O2 delete, 3.73, 33x12.50 and I get 15.5 mixed. Havent tried highway yet but I'd expect 18.
