From mild to wild, let's hear it! I'll start.

On the '92, BEFORE blown head gasket.
-Roller cam conversion, stock/mild cam (don't have specs).
-Cylinder walls bored .030" over, stock-style flat top pistons.

AFTER the top-end rebuild/head gasket replacement.
-2000 year-model Vortec L31 heads, ported and polished.
-Summit Racing SUM226-018 square-bore carb intake
-Trans-dapt adapter plate to keep the TBI (for now)
-Bumped up fuel pressure at the injectors
-Camaro 5.7 TPI fuel pump (50+psi)

FUTURE plans:
-Forged flat-top pistons
-Forged crank (Carbed Vortec 383, anyone?)
-Slightly bigger cam, to shift the torque curve higher
-Magnuson MP122 Supercharger.

You mean my engine?

Only motors in my truck run the HVAC and starting the truck.

Exactly, what have you done to your HVAC and Starter motors! Hahaha. I like the sound of motor more than engine. Guess the mods should correct it.

Correction, let's get technical.

91 8600GVWR truck block. (4 Bolt Main, 8.5/1 Compression)


First Build:

Complete Stock bottom end.

Stock TBI heads, completely refreshed with ZZ4 springs.

Mild Erson Flat Tappet Cam.

454 TBI.


2nd Build (1900 miles later):

906 Vortec Heads.

Roller Conversion.

Erson Roller Cam.

Flat Top pistons.

GMPP Vortec Carb Intake.

Willys Holly HP 650 based Carb.


Future build planned for the next time I blow the fvcker up:

.030 Over Dished pistons to bring compression back down to around 8.5/1.

GM Fast Burn Aluminum Heads.

Cloyes Adjustable Timing Chain with 2 Piece Cover.

Custom Grind Erson.

Twin Garrets. :evil:

Blow Through Carb.

When I got it, there was only exhaust and a chip. No engine mods at all.

Then came a K&N Cold air intake.


Got rid of that when I got the Whipple.

So now it has a Whipple supercharger, with the included cold air intake. Mallory AFPR. New chip.



I have an Edelbrock Performer TBI intake sitting on my workbench next to me. Also going to get a new AFPR, and hopefully some flowmatched 454 injectors.


Future plans:

Trick Flow Super 23 Aluminum heads with a 72 cc chamber. Should take my compression down to about 8.5:1, so I can increase the boost and still run pump gas. :waytogo:

Forged pistons, connecting rods, etc.

Also going to go through the valvetrain. I've done some research, but haven't looked up exactly what I want yet. Also going to go with an MSD 6AL, coil, and distributor. Some magnecor wires.

After that, hopefully some Doug's Headers Tri-Y's, ceramic coated. They're expensive, but they'll last forever. :rocking:
