Under hood light.

I got 91 gmc. What’s that light on left hand side fender under hood. It also has some crank on it??? What is all that ?

It's a light bulb on a wire! You can unreal it and it will reach all the way to your tailgate. There is an on/off switch near the front of the housing and a small lever that locks and unlocks the light from the housing
