I have a 59 merc truck 30 years. Nevef broke down in dark yet lol I just bought this truck a month ago. Graduated to gmc. Hope I don’t break down. Better check that bulb. lol. Thx guy !!
Just be gentle with it! '90s plastic and countless weather and underhood heat/cold cycles will render your novel light a broken annoyance if you're a little too rough with it. Mine WAS intact. Was.

I can see everywhere under my hood with the hood lights I have. It is a one off custom job that I built myself though.

I got 91 gmc. What’s that light on left hand side fender under hood. It also has some crank on it??? What is all that ?

I'm sure you've seen pictures of the old Ford Model T's that had the hand crank starter? GM did the same and kept it around for years, for emergency use, in case of a dead battery. Over the years they perfected it, and made it much smaller. The GMT-400's were the last vehicles that got them. The light is so you can see what you're doing while cranking. Now GM makes vehicles that shut off, at stoplights, by design. Oh for the good old days of hand cranks and gas head lamps.

My Burb has one and I never think to use it,I always grab a small flashlight from the console.....fail!!
Mine came with the hood light so I installed a second on on the driver side. For quick glances I use those. For under side or midway I use the pull out lol. For walking around I grad my chevy trucks flashlight :)

I was. Don't go crankin on that thing while the cord is reeled in; it'll break. The crank is for reeling the cord back after you've pulled it out of its holder. Just funnin' with ya.
