Got a 1997 K1500 with some lateral play on the rear u joint at the rear end. I put a spicer I had on the shelf in and noticed that then I had lateral play in the drive shaft and pinion yoke. The u joint I removed was a factory one and I heated it to remove the plastic and it came out easy. Thinking the spicer u joint might be bad I bought a moog one yesterday and installed and it is the same way. I can move the joint in hand, only when it is bolted to the rear I can grab the driveshaft and move it. I thought it was the pinion at first but I may just have to change that yoke. What should I do with the driveshaft, remove joint and lightly tap on the yoke to compress it some? Play is around 1/16 or so, but I have a vibration and I am trying to get everything tight and balanced.
