After their initial test drive, they said that no major parts seemed to be damaged and it would only need bearings, synchros, and seals so I was expecting around $1200. After they got it apart, none of the gears or shafts are damaged, but they found that the thrust bearing for the main shaft had been bad for some time and the shaft moving laterally was starting to damage the case. Same with the input shaft, that was the noise I could hear when I would hold in the clutch pedal. Also, the socket for the shifter in the top cover was pretty badly worn.
