I did that and then nothing lit up. switched them back and I got whats in the photos again.

what what what the hell. So I only need 1 wire to do this mod??? now I am really confused.

No. You need two. You need power and grounds for the "high" part of the bulb. If you look closely, there are no contacts other than the ones for the running lamps for the top bulbs. It's easiest if you run wires from the bottom bulb contacts to "make" contacts for the "high" part of the top bulb.

Does that make any sense?

I am so lost now I just want to call it quits. I got the same result using one wire from the middle bulb to the top bulb. So whats the need for 2 wires?

should the top bulb be lighting up "high" or "low" because it only lights up "low"

I have followed 2 write ups now and got the same results. Jdyates in your write up I am only seeing that you used 1 blue wire?

so does anybody know whats going on here?? I just cant get the upper bulb "high" filament to light up. its always the low filament lighting up.
