Truck-1992 GMC 1500 Standard Cab short and wide 454/400
Heres the deal; I want better stopping power!
I understand that the 1500 ex cab has larger brakes than the reg 1500.
And the belltech 2" drop spindels have the same part number for the 1500 standard cab and the Ex cab. (I just bought a set)
My truck needs rotors, Calipers and brakes anywho so why not opt for the larger brakes from the EXCAB?
I don't see a problem, but maybe I'm missing something. Same brakes as the SS in my year!

What are the brake pads that some of the more agressive drivers on here use??
And how much heat are you putting in them to make them work good??

PFC pads are great. i love them.

ad far as the spindles, you may want to call DJM and confirm that. there is definately a difference in splindles between the two brake setups, though i dont know what it is.
ive been told that the 1.25 rotors WILL NOT fit the 1 inch rotor spindles.

Ex cab rotors are wider. That's the only difference. Slotted rotors, ceramic pads, stainless steel brake hoses, new fluid.

And hydroboost if you are up to it.

so what youre saying is that the spindles that are designed for the 88-92 1 inch rotors will accept the 1 1/4 rotors and bigger calipers from the extended cabs?

you should do drilled and slotted rotors, with stainless breaklines, and maybe swap the rear out for disk.

Belltech #2500 fits only the Excab brakes with the 1.250" rotors.
