97 gmc automatic its leaking transmission fluid out of the driver side of tranny I belive it out of the shifter linkage seal only place I can see any fluid my question does it leak more when the trucks running in drive? or what cuz after it sits for awhile it wont hardly leak few drips

Idk of a video but at work we use a special tool for it.

The link I posted is for a 700 shifter shaft I believe but a 4l60 is basically a little longer.
Basically the procedure is unbolt the shifter lever and the prndl, be careful unplugging the prndl it's known to be glued in. Ordinarily i use a wrench for the bolt hidden behind the wire harness so that I don't have to unplug it. The tool screws in grabbing the seal and then you pop it out. you use the other piece as a way to push it in. Here's a link for an Astro van but it's still a 4l60e
