Hi Guys,
Been lurking for a while. Bought a '94 ECSB Z-71 a couple months ago and am wanting to get a scanner or scan cable.
I'm looking at this:
http://www.amazon.com/GM-12-pin-ALDL-Scan-Cable/dp/B000PUC8MS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&m=A3SYLVK7R5VYS2&s=merchant-items&qid=1299977909&sr=1-1
Anyone had any experience with this? Is it for all intents and purposes as functional as a live scanner if I use the freebie software? I know how to use the jumper to get the codes from the car now, but I'm looking for more data.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob

You have to download a driver to make the cable work. Go to Moates.net and you'll have all your questions answered.
