Hello all. I have a 1990 gmc 1500 2wd. I need to replace the mirrors that are on it (the big chrome elephant ears that come on square bodies). Im wondering if the 95-98 style will bolt right up to my 88-94 model? I thought about getting a pair from street scene but they seem like they’re a little too small (especially on a long bed). Any help is appreciated,

Thank you!

Mirrors will swap across the entire year range of GMT400's. If you go with the factory type large black plastic folding mirrors just beware that the copies are pretty low quality and will begin flopping at the hinge and often the glass vibrates badly. GM used this mirror from 1992-up on SUV's (typically power), and mid-1994-up in manual designs.

Thank you very much!! I’m planning on staying with manuals. I will look for a set of take-offs before looking at aftermarket. Here’s a pic of the truck. We just pulled it out of a warehouse (yes, that’s bird poop all over it lol)

A pretty dead giveaway on the plastic folding OEM is the real ones generally will have torx bolts on the hinge assembly while the copies will be Phillips head. There may be copies with torx bolts, so it's not a guarantee. Just give the whole assembly a wiggle and see if it seems floppy.

Like my Street Scene mirrors. IMO the only decent looking aftermarket mirror for these trucks. But...lowered RCSB.
...and, the S.S.'s don't fold. Had to be careful backing the truck into the shop as there was only about 3" clearance on either side between the door opening & the mirrors.
