LS Swap Trans Question

Im planning and piecing together a swap for my 91. I plan to get a 99-02 engine so that I can just use cable throttle and less electronics to deal with. The truck is currently a 5 spd but I plan to go automatic with the swap. Would a 4l60e that matches the engine as far as year be better or a 700r4 for simplicity?

It would be easiest to run a 4l60, no TV cable to cobble up, etc.

Just get the 4l60e and converter that matches the motor.

A few improvements were made to the 4l60e over the 700r4 as well making it a little stronger and more reliable.
