LS Swap Transmission Question

I have a 1997 GMC Sierra 1500 with a rebuilt 4l60e. I lost a rod in the L31 and have a change to swap in a 2002 5.3L. I have done some searches on here and google but I may not be wording my question correctly. I know a 0411 from an Express with L31 will work, but can that be re-flashed to run the 97 4l60e and 02 5.3L, or do I need a stand alone trans controller? Everything I have read says 1998 transmissions and up only work with a 0411 and LS based engine swap. Sorry if this question sounds confusing. Thanks in advance.

The 0411 should be able to control your '97 4L60E.
