It probably would not hurt to check the integrity of the battery cables and battery ground. Sometimes all kinds of weirdness can arise from a simple thing like that. If the original cables are still in use it may be time to look at them seriously.
2x on this! These cables are prone to corrosion down their lengths that are hidden under the insulation. And these trucks are VERY sensitive to poor grounds. Literally a quarter turn loose on a major connection makes a lot of difference.
Also check connections at the starter, starter solenoid and alternator. The smaller terminal on the solenoid can become loose. This can also create a starting issue when hot or damp. End of January last year, I had that problem with the Burb. Bad(internally corroded)cables and the loose terminal on the solenoid fixed it.

As a follow up , I did replace the throttle position sensor and have not had the issue anymore. Thanks for the input.
