ideas on building from short block

i have a 1995 c1500 stepside with a 305 im looking into building a new motor ( 350) and wanted some fresh ideas as far as parts

Well, do you want a more powerful build or something closer to stock? It was suggested to me that a Vortec 350 block+heads with a TBI intake manifold adapters was a good choice without spending too much.

more power right now i am carbeurated i want the truck to not only sound good but back it up
