I think is the intro thread.. sorry if its not.
So i basically fell in love with the square bodies back in the 90's when i bought my 85 GMC Jimmy dropped it slammed a 350 in it.. and drove it 4 yrs to college.. it treated me well. BUT the love of my dreams my first car a 69 chevelle sat in storage needing a restoration... so i decided to sell the s15 and just sit around and eventual restored the chevelle 7 yrs ago..
fast forward to now..
I have been hawking the interwebs waiting for the time to get another square or "obs" is what they call them now... and boy i just scored a 1988 c1500 shortbed 4.3 and get this.. with factory Manual no frame rot or rust floors are good... pass cab corner has a hole but miner. So I'm back in head first!

Oh yeah my daily driver is my 08 Trailblazer SS...

Ok now i can post my questions..
My Rides
1988 C1500 Shortbed 5spd (Red)
2008 Trailblazer SS (White)
1969 Chevelle (Ralley Green)

This i believe might be the better of the forums i visited.. And already was very helpful for me..thanks.

So im currently building a 427 BBC for my chevelle it deserves it... currently have healthy 350 sbc in the chevelle less tba. 3k miles on it... i want to drop that in the c1500... block and pistons are at the machine shop getting ready now.. and depending on how tbings go... i'll have it built by end of winter and ready for swap...

THe end goal is get the c1500 body all ready for paint i need pass fender and door slight side swip before i bought it.. but its enough to need new or new old... im going with matte red paint with white letters dow with 4/2 drop... then basically use it as my weekend warrior truck... i dont want make lumver runs in the trailblazer no more...

Welcome.
Got a soft spot for Chevelles. Had a few. Different generations.
Bought a '69 in Gr.10. Didn't even have a license yet. 307/T350/Open 12B w/3.08's. Bucket seat/console car.
By the end of Gr.12...a built 355/T400/3.73's + a bunch of other stuff. Did it all in the school's shop.
Written-off 6 months later. Hit while parked in front of my house. Always wanted another one.
'Square Body' GM trucks = '73-'87
