I'd say 0-60 in 4.3sec(or 4.6 depending on source) is special by any standards-not many cars come clpse even today unless they are expensive/top spec versions.

That's my point. They were expensive/top spec versions back then. Current performance AWD cars and trucks are routinely in the 3.x range, with some offerings dipping into the 2's. In drag racing terms a second difference between cars is huge. It means that if you took a picture of the winner, the loser wouldn't even be in the frame.

There was also a member here, 'low4x4', that has a lowered, boosted (ProCharger?) 383 (?) RCSB with 3 pedals. He's owned the truck for many years.
