Headligh switch

Hey Guys,
Is the headlamp switch supped to always be illuminated even with the lamps off?

If the ignition is on in 95-97 trucks, yes. In some later models they only illuminate with the rest of the instrument illumination. It should not light with the key off tho, and the headlight switch won't control it.
