Had some spare time so I decoded my RPO codes

Found some interesting things about my truck, doesn’t have a 5.0 any more it has a 5.7, still has the 2.73 gears

I'm finding it difficult to believe NJ8, E63, and C5G: Dual 50 gallon fuel tanks with a fleetside bed, and only 5600 GVW? Is this some kind of oddball leftover square body? Because those didn't come with A52 40/20/40 split benches

I ran my VIN in a free lookup as my RPO sticker is pretty much unreadable. Came up with me having a 4L70e ( HD diesel tranny) pretty sure it is just a 700r4 as I have a 5.7.

i was confused about those too, it doesn’t have the original seat in it, has a mini van seat from previous owner and it has a 25 gallon tank, confusing, it’s a 89 w/t 2wd

yea it won’t have a 700r4, 700r4 was 88-90, then went to 4l60

Thought 92 was the first year they changed names.
Either way......it's not what the decoder said.
One day I will hit up the local stealership and get them to run my vid and get a printout.

Make sure the VIN on that SPID sticker matches the one on the cab. Those are easy enough to swap, and given the age of these rigs, it wouldn't surprise me if it was. Also, it wouldn't come a surprise if those codes had different definitions back in the day that these modern decoders aren't capturing.

it was 91, but he’s still not the right trans I think
