gear change/ rear axle swap

[1988GMC]

I have a 88 GMC 1500 4wd and I picked up a 95 chevy 3500 4wd. The 3500 has a junk frame so I want to take the full floater rear out and swap it with the ten bolt in the 1500. The problem is that the 3500 is 4:11 gears and the 1500 has 3:73 gears will the ring and pinion just swap from the 3500 to the 1500 front? If it does swap over does anyone know of a good write up with pictures on swapping gears in the IFS? Thank you in advance.

is that due to the ring gear being bigger or the housing being different?
