so ive alwas had others help me select valve springs this time id like to be able to understand what the hell is going on.
engine is for my 72 k10
so far i have planned 350 vortec block, -12cc heads(stock vortec), lt1 cam with 1.6 stamped rockers should net me about .477/.490 lift, 083 l98 TPI heads ported polished to about 2.02 intake flow and 1.41 exh.
compression should be right about 9.4:1 with felpro 1095, which means .026 quench, 4.10 gasket bore, and .15 compressed thickeness.
also running a high pressure pump, melling 3-4995 timing set, edlebrock port matched dual plane intake and a msd igniton system with holley 750 carb that will be rejetted and what not. all of that is semi irrelevant though. but as for valve springs and hell even push rods what do i need to know, and how do i know what to choose?
