dimmer switch question...

ok so my wife was driving the truck home from work the other night, she went to put the high beams on and nothing,, everything went black.. im assuming it the dimmer switch.. my question is,, is it located with the turn single switch or did they put it somewhere else?? ,, i have a parts truck here i can swap it out of but i just want to make sure im doing it right,,,

the,high/low beam switch is further down on the column under the dash, there is a metal pushrod that
goes goes between the turn signal multi switch and the high/low switch
