I want to swap in a complete rear 10 bolt axle from a suburban to my 97 silverado c1500 2wd 5 lug nut axle with the 10 inch rear drum brakes. Would this be a simple bolt on with no issues ? Are both rears the same any differences, besides the 11 inch drum brakes ?

If the burban is also a 2wd, the only thing different about the axle should be rear sway bar link mounts. if you wanted to, you could add a rear sway bar to the truck for extra roll proctection while turning.

My rear differential is shot & I wanted to get a rear from a Suburban that has the bigger 11 inch brakes, my truck right now has the 10 inch brakes. I figured in killing 2 birds with one stone as the saying goes. I looked at a rear disk brake conversion from ssbc and it's a bit pricy.

Why are you wanting to do this?
