my black coating looks perfect. it isn't completely grey yet but it is fading, stays dirty and in the sun non stop. It's been over a month or so with mine on the truck.

The coating is.....something that I just forgot the name of....it's like the gelcoat they have on glass hoods, it's not a primer, just a sealant to keep metal from rusting while being stored.

I posted pics on this thread I thought of how mine fit.

Mine fit same as my stock hood.

the coating is EDP I think, electro deposit primer or whatever.

Oh they used edp? woot, my bad then. My steel parts have always had that black coating, it's a hard shell coating to seal it from the elements.

Now I could be wrong I thought all the black parts had edp coating? I was watching trucks and they was talking about it, saying to leave it and not sand it bare and all that.
