you can do it without the lower filler panel but if it was my truck, id add the filler panel.

Yea not trying to make this look hacked or look like its missing pieces. Whole point to upgrade the grille is to make it look ''better'' and not missing pieces, lol. For the price, you cant really justify not spending the 10 bucks or whaterver for them. Just wish they had the smooth bumper w/o license mounting holes cuz that would be the replacement bumper as well.

lmc has the same stuff...

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cd/full.aspx?Page=17

part number on the pic, 8, their actual numbers are..

31-3662 and 31-3663

the grille fillers..

part 23 in the pic..

looks like 39-7466 to me or 38 not sure.

then the side fillers..

pic 17 is their number and...

39-7464 and 39-7467

I was told you can make it work without the inner bumper brackets but you have to trim the filler piece some to make it work.

Holy hell~ Just went to order these parts.....264 dollars total....160 is shipping alone! wtf!?

The first time I did this swap there werent any forums to get this info from. So I bought a grille and then realized I needed the filler. Went to put that on and found that the side fillers didnt match up. Also found that they were easily modified to fit. In the numerous times I have done this swap since then, I get all the filler pieces but have never messed with the bumper brackets at all. Hadnt even heard of that part of it before-and Ive done it a lot of times.

If you wanna do it on the cheap get a billet insert and color match it to your truck, or paint it black. That and a bowtie and it's not too bad. I'm still undecided if I wanna do the swap or not, I have almost all the pieces to do it sitting at the house right now.

Billet grill the way it came (bought it like this)

Swapped a 96 K1500 grill onto my 93 K2500, and I couldn't fit the filler piece on it. As I couldn't fit that, there were no mounting of the bottom half of the grill so I zip-tied it to keep it from flapping.

if you buy a smoothie... make sure it has the holes for the valance to mount to (if you plan on installing one), most of the ones on eBay do NOT have mounting holes for the valance.. here' s my grille with billet and polished bowtie.

The mistake most people make (not saying you did) is to try and install the grille and valence at the same time. You have to separate them and mount the valence first-with screws-then the grille snaps into that and you put the screws in at the top.
