Yow! Our gasoline got up to $4.29 per gallon, but it's starting to go back down. Paid $3.69 for Shell, earlier today. Pump shut off at $100 though so I didn't get the tank full. If we don't have much extra driving, that 42 gallon tank will last most of the two weeks between paydays. Some days, we'll put almost a hundred miles on the Burb, just going across greater Houston area and back home.

That is NZ$ though so that would be around US$7.20 but still high. 52% of it is taxes.

No, it was imported from the US and due to the age I was able to leave it as LHD, it just took a little getting used to getting in the wrong side.
That's most annoying of aussie/nz rules-ALL vehicles (with exception of some older ones)must be rhd. I actually feel better in a veh with "opposing" steering-left hooker on uk roads and right in europe-only downside is when overtaking on 1 lane each way roads but can be done. Don't ask me why does it feel better-I can't explain it.

I like the idea that if an oncoming vehicle drifts across into your lane I am sitting far enough over to the left that I stand a good chance of walking away from the collision. Down side is overtaking large trucks as I can't see around them but that just requires a little patience and good acceleration when the time is right.
