Unless it's been load tested I wouldn't rule it out. Most auto parts stores will do this for free. Batteries can fail in very strange and unexpected ways, regardless of age.
I replaced a battery on my crew cab, end of November, that was only 18 months old. But the parts store checked it and they said it was in the last quarter of its life. I don't like being stranded, and already had been once that evening. Since they would warranty it at no cost to me, it was worth it to me to change it out.
