99 tahoe ifs front diff fill plug nylon washer

Hi all-I needed to check my oil level in front diff and I know as I changed the oil when purchased the vehicle,that the nylon washer is cracked-not all the way so it seals it enough but it's always "sweaty" around it. I tried to find replacement but to no avail. Anybody knows where to find a replacement nylon ones? Or what do you use when you replace it-cooper,aluminium?

If the original is still in good enough shape that you can measure it, McMaster-Carr might have a suitable replacement.

Ok tganks-it's in good enough shape but I'd like to have a replacement-the plug has 2 cm with tread diameter.

Try the hardware store--any teflon/nylon washer will work. If you can't find the right size hole in the washer uy a washer with a smaller hole and drill it out to the correct size. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Copper is a better choice if available. For oil pans too. If the plastic washer gets too hot it will deform and possibly leak. If the copper one melts you have much bigger problems.
